England boundary dispute: is the title plan always exact?

Jez Smith4 October 2026

Not necessarily. HM Land Registry says most registered title plans show general boundaries rather than the exact legal line. Neighbours can make a boundary agreement to record a more precise position and, where appropriate, apply to have that agreement noted on the register. Official source: HM Land Registry.
