Northern Ireland deposit dispute: what happens if we disagree about the amount returned?
If a Northern Ireland tenancy deposit is held in a custodial scheme and the tenant and landlord disagree about the amount to be returned, the scheme keeps the money until the dispute is resolved. If they agree, the scheme should repay the agreed amount within five working days. Official source: nidirect custodial scheme guidance.
