NSW bond refund: can I claim it without waiting for the landlord?
Yes. After the tenancy ends, a tenant can claim the bond through Rental Bonds Online without waiting for the landlord or agent to release it. The other party generally has 14 days to dispute the claim. If they do not dispute it, Fair Trading can pay the claim after that period. Official source: NSW Government bond refund guidance.
