First put the problem to the dealer in writing and keep the contract, invoices, repair reports, photos, diagnostic material and messages. If the dispute is not resolved, NSW Fair Trading provides a free motor-vehicle dispute-resolution service. If that still does not resolve the matter, NCAT may be an option and can make binding orders in eligible motor-vehicle consumer claims.
