Australia performance warning: does an employer have to give three warnings before dismissal?
No. Fair Work says there is no general rule requiring 3 warnings, or even 1 warning, before employment ends. But employers should generally use a fair process, clearly explain performance concerns and usually give the employee a reasonable opportunity to improve where underperformance is the issue.
