UK cancelled flight: refund or rerouting — which can I choose?
If UK passenger-rights law applies and your flight is cancelled, the airline must offer a choice between a refund and alternative transport. CAA guidance says passengers should think carefully before choosing because once a refund is selected they generally lose the right to rerouting and care for that journey.
