Your information. Your choices.
How GetInstantLaw.com handles account, Matter, payment and service data. Last updated: 24 September 2026
Only provide information reasonably necessary for the service. Do not submit passwords, full payment-card details, banking credentials or information you are not authorised to share.
1. Information we collect
We may collect account details such as your name, email address, optional phone number, country, state/province/region and postcode/ZIP code; legal questions and facts you provide; saved Matter content, documents, images, voice recordings and transcripts you choose to submit; evidence checklists and deadlines; Partner or Enterprise application information; technical, security and usage information; push-notification subscription tokens where notifications are enabled; and billing status or transaction identifiers supplied by our payment provider. We do not need or store your full payment-card number.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate JEZ AI, localise legal information to the jurisdiction you select, save and manage Matters, provide paid features, secure accounts, prevent abuse, support customers, administer Partner and Enterprise services, improve reliability and measure product performance.
3. AI processing
Information you choose to process through JEZ AI or another AI-assisted feature may be sent to our configured AI provider, currently OpenAI, so the requested feature can operate. Depending on the feature, this can include legal questions and Matter facts, text extracted from documents, images you ask the service to analyse or moderate, and Voice Intake audio for transcription and organisation. We aim to send only information necessary to provide the requested feature. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by the payment provider appropriate to the platform. Website purchases may be processed by Stripe, while native mobile-app purchases may be processed by Apple App Store or Google Play billing. GetInstantLaw.com receives transaction, product, customer or account, purchase-status and entitlement information needed to verify purchases and manage access, but full payment-card details are handled by the payment provider rather than by our application.
5. Marketing and service email
Marketing consent is optional and separate from acceptance of the Terms and Privacy Policy. If you choose to receive product updates or legal-information guides, we record that choice. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time. Service, security, billing or account notices may still be sent where necessary to operate your account. We currently use Resend as an email-delivery provider, which means the recipient email address and the content/metadata needed to deliver and manage those messages may be processed by Resend for that purpose.
6. Partners and Enterprise customers
If you reach GetInstantLaw.com through an authorised Partner or branded portal, limited referral and usage information may be associated with that organisation for service administration and reporting. Private legal content is not made public. Enterprise applications are retained privately for assessment, onboarding and audit purposes. We may use HubSpot as a customer-relationship-management provider for Partner, Reseller, White Label and Enterprise enquiries, checkout follow-up and commercial relationship records. Consumer legal questions, Matter narratives, evidence and prepared legal-information documents are not sent to HubSpot for this purpose.
7. Community content
If you choose to publish a Community post, comment, photo, video, display name or reaction, that content is intended to be visible to other Community users and may be visible publicly. Do not place confidential Matter content or unnecessary personal information in Community posts. Public Community text and images may be sent to our configured AI safety provider, currently OpenAI, for automated moderation before publication. Video posts are held for moderator review before they become public. Community reporting and blocking features may create moderation records so we can review abuse, enforce Community rules and protect users.
8. Storage, security and retention
We use access controls and reasonable technical safeguards intended to protect stored information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain records, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes, then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.
Free and paid Matter records are not automatically deleted merely because a 90-day period has passed. The 90-day period shown for paid consumer Matters is the active paid-support period, not an automatic deletion timer. Saved Matters may remain available for account continuity and review, subject to legitimate account administration, legal or record-keeping requirements, and any verified deletion request that applies.
9. International use
GetInstantLaw.com serves users in multiple countries. Service providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards should be used for international transfers.
10. Your choices and requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or other action concerning your personal information. Requests may require identity verification before account information can be disclosed or changed.
Request account deletion · Make another privacy or data request.
11. Device permissions and notifications
The mobile app may request microphone access when you start JEZ Voice Intake, camera access when you choose to photograph a document or evidence, and photo-library access when you choose an existing image to attach. These permissions are requested for the feature you choose to use. If you enable push notifications, the app stores the notification subscription token needed to deliver requested service or Matter notifications and to route a notification tap back to the relevant part of the app.
12. Analytics, cookies and local storage
Essential cookies or browser storage may be used for authentication, security, remembering product state, preserving an anonymous-to-member Matter handoff and similar service functions. These essential functions do not depend on analytics consent.
Optional analytics does not load until you choose to allow it. If you allow analytics, we use PostHog and Google Analytics to understand page use and key service milestones such as JEZ AI engagement, registration, checkout and feature use. We do not intentionally send legal question text, Matter narratives, document contents, evidence labels, deadline notes, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers or payment-card details to these analytics services. PostHog is configured without session recording, automatic interaction capture or persistent browser storage; signed-in PostHog activity may be associated with an internal GetInstantLaw account identifier so product usage can be measured across the account journey. Google Analytics may process technical and usage information in accordance with Google's service configuration and policies.
If you allow analytics, we may also use Ahrefs Web Analytics for public-page views on our main website. Our integration excludes signed-in visits, account and Matter routes, URLs containing query text or fragments, and potentially sensitive referrers. Automatic link-click and form-submission reporting is disabled in our integration. Ahrefs describes its service as cookie-free and uses technical information to produce aggregate traffic statistics. We do not send legal questions, Matter contents or contact-form contents to Ahrefs. Visitors whose browsers send Do Not Track remain excluded from this integration.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, providers or legal requirements change. The current version and date will be published on this page.
14. Contact and important reminder
Privacy requests and questions should be sent through the contact method published by GetInstantLaw.com. GetInstantLaw.com provides legal information, not legal advice, and this Privacy Policy describes the service's data practices rather than providing privacy-law advice to users.
